July 17, 1992 The First Frame Agreement to organize the Caspian Pipeline Consortium was signed by the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Sultanate of Oman. The Russian Federation joined the agreement a month later.
March 24, 1994 The Russian Government rendered a special decision entitled "On Construction of the Tengiz-to-Astrakhan-to-Novorossiisk Export Oil Pipeline System by the Caspian Pipeline Consortium".
December 6, 1996 A decision was made to restructure CPC and to transfer 50 percents of shares to major international oil companies in exchange for their commitment to fully finance the initial construction phase of the project and its commissioning.
April 19, 1997 CPC awarded contract to the consortium comprising Fluor Daniel, USA, and Giprovostokneft Institute, Samara, Russia, for design, engineering and project management services.
October 28, 1998 Expert authorities in the Republic of Kazakhstan have given their approval to the CPC Modernization Feasibility Study (project). The document outlines the modernization plans for the existing 452-kilometer pipeline, which runs from the Tengiz oil field to the Russian border.
November 24, 1998 CPC held a ceremony to mark the completion of preparations for and commencement of practical implementation of the Project. The event at which new construction startup documents were signed was attended by Yuri Maslukov, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Nurlan Balgimbaev, Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakstan, CPC Shareholders and Management headed by General Director Victor Fedotov.
November 27, 1998 CPC signed a $69 MM contract with ILVA of Italy for 1,067 mm and 1,422 mm pipe. ILVA will make deliveries between April and December 1999.
December 18, 1998 CPC signed a $86.6 MM contract with Volzhsky Pipe Mill for the manufacturing of 1,016 mm spiral welded pipes for the construction of the pipeline segment between Komsomolskaya and Novorossiisk
February 1, 1999 CPC completed execution of all necessary documents for allocation of land plots for the entire new construction in Russia. CPC also proceeded with compensation for land use under the laws of the Russian Federation.
February 23, 1999 Volzhsky Pipe Mill delivered the first shipment of pipes for CPC pipeline construction
March 16, 1999 CPC signed a $360 million contract with the French/Russian consortium Starstroi to build the marine terminal of the pipeline system. The consortium includes Bouygues Offshore, Kubanneftegastroi (Krasnodar), and Stavropoltruboprovodstroi (Stavropol). The single point moorings (loading buoys) will be supplied by the company Single Buoy Moorings Inc. of Switzerland (SBM). The contract with SBM for the supply of two complete buoy systems was executed on March 12th.
March 30, 1999 CPC signed a $36 million contract with Chicago Bridge & Iron Company N.V. (CB&I) and ZAO Koksokhimmontazh Trust for the construction of four crude oil storage tanks at the marine terminal
April 22, 1999 CPC signed a $270 million contract with the Russian/French consortium Starstroi to refurbish the existing trunk pipeline section from the Russia/ Kazakhstan border to Komsomolskaya and to install a new pipeline from Komsomolskaya to the marine terminal tank farm near Novorossiysk. The Starstroi Consortium includes Kubanneftegastroi (Krasnodar), Stavropoltruboprovodstroi (Stravropol), Bouygues Offshore (Paris) and Spie Capag (Paris). It will employ a number of leading Russian design institutes and construction companies as subcontractors.
May 12, 1999 Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) celebrated its pipeline system ground breaking
August 2, 1999 CPC signed a $26 million contract with a consortium comprised of OOO Vneshtruboprovodstroi, Russia and FAB GmbH, Germany, for the construction of 12 Horisontal Directional Drilling river crossings.
October 11, 1999 Set-up of the first storage tank started on the tank farm site.
November 17, 1999 A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held in the Krasnodar Krai in Southern Russia to commemorate the laying of CPC's first line pipes. At the same time, pipelaying began in the Stavropol Krai.
December 2, 1999 RF Prime Minister Vladimir Putin met with the directors of the major CPC shareholder companies Vagit Alekperov, President of LUKoil Company, and Richard Matzke, Director of Chevron Corporation and the President of Chevron Overseas Petroleum Inc. The meeting was devoted to the progress achieved in constructing the Tengiz-Novorossiysk pipeline system. Prime Minister Putin expressed his satisfaction with the progress already made and assured meeting participants that the Russian Government will provide all possible support for the project. He underscored that the CPC project is of great importance to Russia both from the economic and geopolitical points of view.
December 29, 1999 CPC signed contracts with RAO "Rosneftegazstroi" (Russia) and MAN GHH Oil&Gas GmbH (Germany) to construct and to refurbish pump stations (PS) for the Russian part of the pipeline system from Tengiz to Novorossiysk. The combined amount of the contracts is about $80 mln.
March 29, 2000 A $45 million contract was signed in Almaty (Kazakhstan) with Tekfen Construction and Installation Co., Inc. (Turkey) to upgrade the Kazakh section of the Tengiz-Novorossiysk oil pipeline system. The contract envisages construction of a new oil pumping station in Atyrau, upgrading and expanding the existing station in Tengiz, as well as refurbishment of existing CPC line pipe and high voltage (10Kv) electric power lines from Tengiz to Russian-Kazakh boarder. By signing this contract, CPC concluded yet another important stage - the tender process to identify construction contractors.
May 25, 2000 A roundtable discussion "CPC and Landscape Protection" was held in Krasnodar. Participants of the roundtable included representatives of CPC and 22 public environmental associations and organizations from Krasnodar, Novorossiysk and Anapa, Krai Administration, State Committee for Ecology of Kuban, directorates for forest reserves of the krai and other interested organizations. The roundtable became the starting point for developing a model of co-operation between large consumers of natural resources and public organizations of the Krasnodar Krai.
September 1, 2000 Today CPC signed a $3 mln contract to provide 59 fire trucks for Russian Regional Fire Service Departments along the pipeline route. Recipients of the trucks - four regional fire service departments and the Main Department of the State Fire Service, which coordinates interaction of regional departments and defines general principles of fire safety of the CPC pipeline system, and CPC, who is financing this purchase order. The trucks are supplied by OAO Uralsky Zavod Pozharnoi Tekhniki (Ural Plant of Fire Trucks) (Miass, Chelyabinsky region).
September 14, 2000 The new office of CPC Eastern region opened in Atyrau. The office, designed by the Atyrau Zuba Company, was constructed by the local Kazakhstani company Bisat. At the opening ceremony, CPC General Director Viktor Fedotov said that CPC-K, previously registered in Almaty, was re-registered in Atyrau.
October 13, 2000 The submarine section of the pipeline of the Marine Terminal was completed. The pipeline was laid by Strastroi from a special vessel, a marine pipe layer, which arrived from the Gulf of Mexico
November 21, 2000 RF Gosgortekhnadzor granted a license to CPC to operate the oil pipeline system and the Marine Terminal.
November 22, 2000 The "Golden-joint-welding" ceremony took place at the tank farm of the Marine Terminal, to mark the completion of the CPC line pipe construction.
November 28, 2000 The set-up of Single Point Moorings was completed
November 30, 2000 The Shareholders Meeting of CPC approved the budget and scope of work for the year 2001. The Shareholders meeting accepted the resignation of CPC General Director Victor Fedotov and unanimously approved Sergei Gnatchenko as the new General Director.
March 26, 2001 Initial filling of the pipeline system from Atyrau with the oil the Tengiz oil field started
April 27, 2001 Employees and contractors of CPC have achieved over 10 million man-hours without any lost time accident.
June 8, 2001 The CPC has resumed filling its pipeline to bring crude oil from Tengiz across the Russian border, obtaining the authorization required by the State Customs Committee to transport the Kazakh oil through the territory of the Russian Federation.
August 3, 2001 A shareholder meeting of the CPC was held in Moscow. The shareholders approved the Transportation Agreement, which was the key document defining the norms of CPC pipeline overall operation and covering such issues as the Quality Bank, capacity allowances, commercial terms, etc
September 26, 2001 The CPC conducted the first emergency response drill at the new Marine Terminal. The drill was held to work on coordinated actions stipulated by the Sea Oil Spillage Elimination Plan.
October 14, 2001 The CPC has completed a trial loading of a tanker chartered by Tengizchevroil at the new Marine Terminal
November 27, 2001 the Marine Terminal. In attendance were representatives of the CPC's government-shareholders, including Kazakhstan Deputy Prime-Minister and Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Vladimir Shkolnik, RF 1st Deputy Minister of Energy Ivan Matlashov and Sultanate of Oman Minister of National Economy Ahmed Macki, by representatives of company-shareholders of the consortium, including LUKOIL President Vagit Alekperov and ChevronTexaco Chairman David O'Reilly. Also in attendance were delegations from the local regions through which the CPC pipeline runs - Kazakhstan's Atyrauskaya Oblast, RF Astrakhan Oblast, Republic of Kalmykiya, Stavropol and Krasnodar Krais, as well as representatives of the diplomatic corps and heads of subcontractor companies.
May 1, 2002 A scheduled rotation of the top CPC management took place. In compliance with the CPC Shareholders Agreement ChevronTexaco nominates candidates for the post of the CPC General Director in the following four-year term while LUKOIL nominates candidates for the post of the First Deputy. Ian R. MacDonald, President of Chevron Neftegas Inc., was appointed the new CPC General Director, Sergei Gnatchenko his First Deputy.
August 9, 2002 CPC-R participates in search and rescue operations and donates three million rubles to provide immediate aid to victims of flooding caused by hard rains in the vicinity of Novorossiysk
October 28, 2002 CPC shipped ten million tons of oil to world markets from its marine terminal near Novorossiisk. September 13, 2002
November 6, 2002 CPC loaded the 100th tanker at its marine terminal
December 27, 2002 CPC loaded the first tanker with crude oil belonging to JV TOO Arman, an affiliate shipper of CPC shareholder Oryx Caspian Pipeline LLC and signed a third transportation agreement with Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V., who is an affiliated shipper of several CPC shareholders and will supply crude hydrocarbons from the Karachaganak field near Aksai, Kazakhstan. With this shipment real payments through the CPC Quality Bank have begun.
April 10, 2003 CPC and TOO Trading House of KazMunaiGaz (a subsidiary of the National Oil and Gas Company of Kazakhstan, KazMunaiGaz) signed an oil transportation agreement. TOO Trading House of KazMunaiGaz will transport crude oil, produced by OAO Embamunaigaz (another subsidiary of KazMunaiGaz), using the Republic of Kazakhstan's access rights in CPC.
April 24, 2003 CPC and TOO Kazakhoil-Aktobe signed an oil transportation agreement. Under the agreement, TOO Kazakhoil-Aktobe will transport crude from Alibekmola and Martyshi fields, using the access rights of a CPC shareholder Kazakhstan Pipeline Ventures LLC
June 27, 2003 CPC and OOO CNPC- Aktobemunaigaz signed an oil transportation agreement and have begun shipping oil. Under the agreement, OOO CNPC-Aktobemunaigaz transports crude from the Aktubinsk region, using the Republic of Kazakhstan's access rights in CPC.
August 22, 2003 CPC at its Marine Terminal near Novorossiysk loaded the 200th tanker since the beginning of operations in October 2001.
October 21, 2003 CPC started pumping oil for a new shipper - LITASCO. This company transports oil using the LUKARCO B.V. access rights to CPC. The oil is produced by ZAO Turgaipetroleum in Western Kazakhstan fields
March 3, 2004 CPC reached thirty million tons of crude oil delivered to world markets through its pipeline system from the Tengiz oil field in Kazakhstan to the Marine Terminal near Novorossiysk

June 15, 2004 CPC has signed a contract with a team of contractors that will conduct front-end engineering and design for the expansion of the CPC pipeline system, that runs from the Tengiz oilfield in Kazakhstan to Yuzhnaya Ozereevka at the Russian coast of the Black Sea. This work, expected to be completed by December 2004, will provide CPC and its shareholders with the information required to determine the size, timing and design features of an Expansion. The contracting group comprises Gulf Interstate Engineering (GIE) of Houston, the Kazakh Institute of Oil and Gas (KING) based in Astana, Kazakhstan, Giprovostokneft of Samara, Russia and John Brown E&C of UK.

19.09.2007 Акционерами согласован план мероприятий по реструктуризации финансовой задолженности КТК, принято решение о повышении тарифа прокачки с $30,24 до $38 за тонну и снижении ставки по привлеченным заемным средствам КТК с 12,66% до 6% годовых.
25.10.2006 Морской терминал Каспийского Трубопроводного Консорциума стал лауреатом первой международной премии «Нефтяной Терминал 2006» в номинации «Лучшая технологическая оснащенность».
29.07.2008 На морском терминале КТК загружен 1500-ный танкер.
17.10.2008 Акционеры КТК подписали меморандум о принципах расширения КТК.
20.04.2009 Завершился сертификационный аудит Системы экологического менеджмента (СЭМ) Каспийского Трубопроводного Консорциума, проведенный известной международной сертифицирующей организацией BSI Management Systems. По его результатам было подтверждено соответствие разработанной и внедренной консорциумом СЭМ, охватывающей эксплуатационную деятельность во всех его подразделениях, международному экологическому стандарту ISO 14001:2004, и выдан Сертификат.
22.09.2009 На морском терминале КТК отгружена 200-миллионная тонна нефти.
16.12.2009 Утвержден план реализации Проекта расширения, включающий комплекс вопросов по управлению Проектом, по закупкам оборудования с длительными сроками изготовления, подходам к финансированию, согласована форма ключевых коммерческих договоренностей.
01.03.2010 На морском терминале КТК загружен 2000-ый танкер.
13.04.2010 Завершился сертификационный аудит Системы управления охраной труда и производственной безопасностью Каспийского Трубопроводного Консорциума, проведенный авторитетной международной сертифицирующей организацией BSI (Британский Институт Стандартов). По его результатам было подтверждено соответствие стандарту BS OHSAS 18001:2007 разработанной и внедренной КТК системы управления вопросами охраны здоровья работников и производственной безопасности на предприятии.
19.09.2010 КТК заключил соглашения о сотрудничестве с регионами, по территории которых проходит трасса магистрального трубопровода компании.
24.11.2010 Генеральным директором КТК избран Николай Платонов.
15.12.2010 Принято окончательное решение об инвестировании пл Проекту расширения Каспийского трубопроводного консорциума
01.07.2011 В Атырау (Казахстан) состоялась торжественная церемония, посвященная началу строительных работ по Проекту расширения Каспийского трубопроводного консорциума.
