CPC Confirms International Quality Management Standard System Compliance

Caspian Pipeline Consortium has completed the certification of its quality management system for compliance with  requirements of the international standard ISO 9001:2008.
The certification area is CPC’s core business activity of moving crude oil through the Tengiz-Novorossiysk mainline oil pipeline. The quality management system (QMS) covers Operations functions, Legal, HR and transportation.
The roll-out of the QMS was started in CPC in December 2011. Key corporate processes were monitored and necessary standards and procedures were developed later in 2012. A CPC internal audit in September confirmed the functionality and effectiveness of the newly-introduced system. Those efforts were successful and resulted in an expert opinion issued by an international certifying authority, BSI (British Standards Institution).

Getting the Certificate signifies that Caspian Pipeline Consortium is now internationally recognized as a company whose quality management and also personnel qualifications and competence, the operations infrastructure and technologies used meet very high standards. This is the third key international standard the company has confirmed compliance with. As a reminder, this year CPC has also successfully recertified its environmental management system for ISO 14001:2004 compliance and also reconfirmed the validity of its OHSAS 18001:2007 certification for personnel health and safety management.
CPC pipeline system is one of the largest investment projects in the energy industry with participation of foreign capital on the CIS territory. The length of the pipeline connecting the oil fields in Western Kazakhstan with the Marine Terminal near Novorossiysk is 1,511 km. CPC Marine Terminal is equipped with single point moorings which allow for safe tanker lifting at a considerable distance from the shore, also when the weather conditions are unfavorable.
