CPC guarantees efficient and environmentally safe movement of crude oil

CPC transports 350+ thousand tons of Kashagan oil

As of November 19, 2016, the Caspian Pipeline Consortium pipeline has transported over 350 thousand tons of Kashagan oil. In total, more than 400 thousand tons of crude oil have been produced in this field, as reported by Kanat Bozumbaev, Kazakhstan Energy Minister, during the "Government Hour" in the Lower House of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Kashagan went to a commercial production level on November 1, 2016. By that time CPC had all necessary Expansion facilities ready to receive additional oil volumes.
The Government Hour in the Lower House of the Parliament coincided with the Development of the Oil and Gas Sector of Kazakhstan exhibition  Caspian Pipeline Consortium participated in. Kayrgeldy Kabyldin, CPC- Deputy General Director, informed the deputies about the company’s activities and  answered  their questions.
In particular, Gulmira Isimbayeva, the house vice speaker, was interested in  CPC Expansion details and environmental safety matters. According to Kayrgeldy Kabyldin, the Consortium is now completing the Expansion Project increasing the capacity of the Tengiz-Novorossiysk pipeline system. This includes the pump station A-PS-4 already built in Kazakhstan. Another pump station, A-PS-3A, is scheduled to be commissioned in the second half of 2017.
In the middle of 2017, when all work is completed, the capacity of the CPC pipeline will reach 67 million tons of oil per year, including 52.5 million tons from Kazakhstan.

CPC pipeline system is one of the largest investment projects in the energy industry with participation of foreign capital on the CIS territory. The length of the pipeline connecting the oil fields in Western Kazakhstan with the Marine Terminal near Novorossiysk is 1,511 km. CPC Marine Terminal is equipped with single point moorings which allow for safe tanker lifting at a considerable distance from the shore, also when the weather conditions are unfavorable.
