CPC guarantees efficient and environmentally safe movement of crude oil

Caspian Pipeline Consortium took part in the opening of the EXPO-2017 Global Exhibition in Astana

On June 9, 2017, an opening of EXPO-2017 took place in Astana which was participated by the head of states participating in the forum, including Russian President Vladimir Putin and Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev, and also heads of companies sponsoring the EXPO-2017 Global Exhibition. CPC was represented at the opening ceremony by CPC General Director Nikolay Gorban.
The exhibition will be open to the public on June 10 and will last till September 10, 2017. 
The main subject of the event that gathered about 100 member countries will be a discussion of achievements and prospects in the sphere of use of renewable energy sources, operational issues of industrial facilities and decrease in their influence on the environment.
Kazakhstan is one of the key shareholders of Caspian Pipeline Consortium. The republic is represented by KazMunayGas with 19% and Kazakhstan Pipeline Ventures LLC with 1.75% – 20.75% shares in CPC.
Since becoming operational, the Tengiz – Novorossiysk pipeline system has transported about half a billion tons of oil of the Kazakhstan producers to international markets. Annually CPC pumps more than two thirds of all export oil of Kazakhstan.

CPC pipeline system is one of the largest investment projects in the energy industry with participation of foreign capital on the CIS territory. The length of the pipeline connecting the oil fields in Western Kazakhstan with the Marine Terminal near Novorossiysk is 1,511 km. CPC Marine Terminal is equipped with single point moorings which allow for safe tanker lifting at a considerable distance from the shore, also when the weather conditions are unfavorable.
