Completion of CPC Expansion Project in Stavropol Krai: commissioning of PS-5

On 23 August 2017, PS-5 was commissioned in the Stavropol Krai – this is the second of the two pump stations, which were to be constructed under the CPC Expansion Project there.
The commissioning ceremony was attended by CPC General Director Nikolay Gorban, Consortium Shareholders, a high-level delegation of the Stavropol Krai, including Governor Vladimir Vladimirov, Deputy Chairman of the Krai Government Roman Petrashov, Minister for Energy, Industry and Communication Vitaly Khotsenko, as well Adviser to the President / Chairman of the Board of PAO Sberbank of Russia Elena Teplitskaya.
Commissioning of PS-5 and scheduled for QIV 2017 that of PS-2 in Kalmykia will increase the pipeline throughput by 9.5 million tons of crude oil per annum at the Tengiz-Novorossiysk oil pipeline section from Komsomolskaya PS to Kropotkinskaya PS.
The bulk of PS construction was completed by general contractor ООО Contact-S (part of AO Transengineering) with Telvent, Honeywell, Englobal, Sinkross and other companies involved.  
PS-5 is a modern facility built by innovation technologies. There are four electric-drive mainline pumps installed at the station, as well as mud strainers, pressure control unit, DRA injection system, PS life support systems. Besides, automatic foam extinguishing system and surge relief system were erected. The latter includes a valve block, 5 underground tanks V=100 m3 each and crude oil evacuation pumps.
Frame and modular buildings were constructed at the station, a 2.6 km access road was built to the facility. For PS power supply, a 110/10 KV substation was constructed. The PS construction included upgrading of the Stavropol Krai power supply system.
The new PS means also extra tax revenues for the Krai budget. Over 7 months of 2017, CPC paid to the Stavropol Krai consolidated budget more than RUR 700 million.    
Commissioning of the new station created for local residents 122 permanent jobs of highly-qualified and highly-paid specialists.
When handing over a symbolic key to the PS Manager, CPC General Director Nikolay Gorban reminded that there had been no incidents or safety violations during PS construction and expressed confidence that the station staff would continue this tradition.
CPC General Director Nikolay Gorban and Governor Vladimir Vladimirov congratulated the parties involved in the construction with successful completion of the Expansion Project within the Stavropol Krai and handed out awards to the best specialists.
