Working Meeting between the Head of CPC and the Atyrau Region Akim

On 11 October 2017 Nikolay Gorban, General Director of CPC, had a working meeting with Nurlan Nogaev, Akim of the Atyrau Region. The negotiations were also attended by Kairgeldy Kabyldin, Deputy General Director, Republic of Kazakhstan Government Relations, and Serik Shapkenov, head of the Atyrau city. The parties discussed a wide range of issues related to cooperation between CPC and regional authorities, implementation progress of social projects of regional importance.
As a reminder, starting from 2000 up to 2017 the Caspian Pipeline Consortium has spent over KZT 7 billion for charity projects in the Atyrau region.
The spendings on the region’s social infrastructure development as part of implementation of the CPC Pipeline Expansion Project only during 2011-2017 have exceeded USD 21.5 million. 4 kindergartens have been constructed over that period. 8 schools in the regional center and in the districts of the region have been repaired. The regional Maternity Hospital has been converted into the state-of-the-art Perinatal Center.
In 2016 the heads of CPC and the Atyrau region signed the cooperation agreement. The document allowed further development of cooperation in such social spheres as education, healthcare, popular sport.

The CPC pipeline system is one of the largest investment projects with foreign capital in the energy sector in the CIS. The length of the Tengiz–Novorossiysk Pipeline is 1,511 km; it transports over two thirds of all Kazakhstan export crude, as well as crude from Russian oil fields, including the Caspian Region. CPC Marine Terminal is equipped with three Single Point Moorings (SPM) that allow to load tankers safely at a significant distance offshore, also amid poor weather conditions.
