CPC guarantees efficient and environmentally safe movement of crude oil

CPC General Director conducted a number of working meetings in Astana

CPC General Director Nikolay Gorban paid a working meeting to the Republic of Kazakhstan on January 24-25, 2018. During the trip, he was accompanied by Scott McDonald, CPC Finance Consultant, and Kairgeldy Kabyldin, Deputy General Director, RK Government Relations, Caspian Pipeline Consortium-K.
 
CPC Head had a meeting with Kanat Baedilov, Vice Minister of Finance, Republic of Kazakhstan, during which the issues pertaining to CPC-K property tax in the Region and the Consortium’s operation and financial business results in 2017 were discussed.
 
In addition, a meeting was held with Bakytzhan Kazhiyev, Board Chairman of  KEGOC, Kazakhstan electric power grid operating company, during which the issues of power supply to CPC Facilities in the Republic and CPC-K potential entry into the electric power wholesale market in Kazakhstan were reviewed. 
 
On the first day of the visit negotiations were also conducted with Nurtas Shmanov, Senior Vice President of KazMunayGas for Oil Transportation, during which constructive interchange of views took place on a wide range of matters related to the current interaction and further cooperation within the context of the forthcoming increase of transportation volumes through CPC pipeline system up to 67 M tons of crude oil per year following the completion of the Consortium’s Expansion Project.

The CPC pipeline system is one of the largest investment projects with foreign capital in the energy sector in the CIS. The length of the Tengiz–Novorossiysk Pipeline is 1,511 km; it transports over two thirds of all Kazakhstan export crude, as well as crude from Russian oil fields, including the Caspian Region. CPC Marine Terminal is equipped with three Single Point Moorings (SPM) that allow to load tankers safely at a significant distance offshore, also amid poor weather conditions.
