CPC Top Managers Visited PS-8 in Krasnodar Krai

On 30 January 2019, CPC General Director Nikolay Gorban, First Deputy General Director, Operations, Kenneth Yoss and General Manager, Field Operations, Vladimir Shmakov visited PS-8 located in Krymsky district in Krasnodar Krai.
During the visit of the CPC top managers to the station, an unscheduled check of the readiness of personnel and contractors for emergency response was held.  A special task was given by the the General Director of the Consortium Nikolay Gorban - ignition at the site of the mud stainer filter "B". The representatives of the Kuban fire brigade from the fire depot located directly on the NPS, as well as the participants of the volunteer fire brigade from among the operating personnel, deployed all the necessary equipment and carried out a foam attack.
During PS visit CPC top managers inspected sites of main and auxiliary equipment, conditions of personnel accommodation and had a meeting with CPC staff. CPC top managers noted operational reliability of equipment and high professionalism of PS specialists.
PS-8 is the last downstream PS out of interim pump stations of the Tengiz-Novorossiysk pipeline. It was commissioned in August 2017 as part of the Expansion Project. The commissioning of PS-8 allowed to increase the throughout by 20 MMTA in the western segment of the Tengiz-Novorossiysk pipeline — from Kropotkin PS to MT Tank Farm.
Four mainline pump units driven by 7MW electric motors are installed at PS. The pump station has mud strainers, pressure control station, DRA injection system, utilities (closed switchgear, portable water treatment plant, treatment units), automatic fire foam suppression system and surge relief system.

CPC Pipeline System is one of the major investment projects in energy sector with participation of foreign capital in the CIS. The length of the Tengiz–Novorossiysk Pipeline is 1,511 km; it transports over two thirds of all Kazakhstan export crude, as well as crude from Russian oil fields, including the Caspian Region. CPC Marine Terminal is equipped with three Single Point Moorings (SPM) that allow to load tankers safely at a significant distance offshore, also amid poor weather conditions.
