CPC guarantees efficient and environmentally safe movement of crude oil

Meeting of CPC General Director and Lukoil President

On June 7, 2019, CPC General Director Nikolay Gorban met with Lukoil President Vagit Alekperov at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. Deputy General Directors Mikhail Grishankov and Kairgeldy Kabyldin, and Vladimir Shmakov, General Manager, Field Operations participated in the meeting.
The parties discussed the Consortium’s performance results in 2018 and further cooperation within the international project.

Crude oil from Filanovsky offshore oil field, which is being developed by LUKOIL in the Caspian, started entering CPC pipeline system on October 1, 2016. To transport its hydrocarbons to the shore the company built a system of subsea and overland oil and gas pipelines. Oil is delivered by the subsea pipe to the shore facilities tank farm and is then injected into the Caspian Pipeline Consortium system to be transported for export.
Komsomolskaya PS equipment upgrade was completed in April 2014 as part of Phase 1 of the CPC Expansion Project. In particular, custody transfer meters, a laboratory and a chemicals warehouse were built and put into service, new pump units, crude oil and firewater storage tanks, mud strainers and a surge relief system were installed.
The 10-millionth ton of oil shipped by LUKOIL was accepted in the CPC System via Komsomolskaya PS CTM in the Republic of Kalmykia on March 10, 2019. CPC Operations specialists note that this operations milestone was achieved in full compliance with the HSE norms.

CPC Pipeline System is one of the major investment projects in energy sector with participation of foreign capital in the CIS. The length of the Tengiz–Novorossiysk Pipeline is 1,511 km; it transports over two thirds of all Kazakhstan export crude, as well as crude from Russian oil fields, including the Caspian Region. CPC Marine Terminal is equipped with three Single Point Moorings (SPM) that allow to load tankers safely at a significant distance offshore, also amid poor weather conditions.
