20190614-01.jpgA meeting between CPC General Director Nikolay Gorban and Kanat Bozumbayev, Minister of Energy, Republic of Kazakhstan, was held on June 12, 2019, in Nur-Sultan, the capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Support to CPC Pipeline System stable operation and opportunities of further modernization of Tengiz-Novorossiysk crude pipeline to provide for the growing demand of the country’s lead oil fields producers became the key topic of the conversation.

Kanat Bozumbayev emphasized the high value of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium to the Republic, as the Consortium pumps about 75% of Kazakhstan’s export crude oil, and said that the Ministry would continue providing comprehensive support to the project.

As a reminder: In November 2018, CPC loaded the half-billionth ton of oil received from Kazakhstani Shippers since the beginning of the operation of the pipeline system.

As of the end of 2018, CPC transported 54.3 M tons of crude oil from Kazakhstan. The largest volumes of oil came to Tengiz-Novorossiysk pipeline system from Tengiz, Karachaganak and Kashagan oil fields - 28.7 M tons, 10.3 M tons and 13.2 M tons, respectively.

For reference.

The CPC pipeline system is one of the largest investment projects with foreign capital in the energy sector in the CIS. The length of Tengiz-Novorossiysk pipeline is 1,511 km; more than two thirds of all export crude oil from Kazakhstan and crude oil from the Russian fields, including those in the Caspian Region, are transported by this route. CPC Marine Terminal is equipped with three Single Point Moorings (SPM) that allow to load tankers safely at a significant distance offshore, also in poor weather conditions.
