The regional governor commented during an award ceremony that the award was for successes achieved for years of productive professional work and a great contribution to the social and economic development of the region. In his response, Ivan Sharay stressed that he considered the award to be a high appraisal of the entire CPC Central Region team which would continue to perform its operating activities in line with the highest industrial and environmental safety standards, as well as implement charity projects in the region.

Astrakhan is the location of the head office of the Consortium’s Central Region, this business unit’s responsibility area covering the Astrakhan region and the Republic of Kalmykia. Over 200 km of the Tengiz - Novorossiysk oil pipeline crosses the region, with three oil pump stations - Astrakhan, APS-4A and APS-5A - maintaining operating pressure in that section.

CPC transported almost 52 million tons of crude oil through the Astrakhan region in 2020. Tax revenues into the Astrakhan region’s consolidated budget have totaled about 8.5 billion rubles just over the past three years.

The Consortium’s cooperation with the Astrakhan region has been continuing for over 20 years, during which CPC, in addition to ensuring efficient operation of its industrial facilities, has been providing substantial support to social projects in such areas as culture, education, health care, public transport, sports, as well as implementing aid programs for disadvantaged social groups. In 2020, CPC allocated 112 million rubles for charity purposes in the region.
