SPIEF-2021: Meeting of CPC and AVEVA CEOs

20210603-2.jpgA meeting of Caspian Pipeline Consortium and AVEVA delegations took place on June 3, 2021. Negotiations were held at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2021).

From CPC the meeting was attended by Nikolay Gorban, CPC General Director, Vladimir Shmakov, General Manager, Field Operations, and Igor Lisin, Technical Director. AVEVA was represented by AVEVA CEO Peter Herwig and Alexey Lebedev, AVEVA Vice-President for Eastern Europe and Russia. Anastasia Vlasyevnina, Deputy General Director of Schneider Electric for the Energy Market of Russia and the CIS, also participated in the meeting.

The companies are currently cooperating under the Debottlenecking Program of the Tengiz-Novorossiysk oil pipeline. The parties signed a contract totaling 8 million pounds for upgrade of the supervisory control and data acquisition system (OASyS SCADA), leak detection system (SimSuite) and on-line operator training system (OTS), including a hydraulic model. The implementation of the entire industrial software project, including six separate stages, will take more than 50 months. The project will be led by project teams in Russia and Kazakhstan, working not only in project offices, but also directly at CPC sites with the support of AVEVA specialists all over the world.

The CPC Pipeline System is one of CIS largest energy investment projects that involves foreign capital. The length of the Tengiz – Novorossiysk pipeline is 1,511 km. This route moves over two thirds of all Kazakhstan export oil along with crude from Russian fields including those in the Caspian region. CPC Marine Terminal is equipped with three Single Point Moorings (SPM), allowing tankers to be loaded safely at significant distance offshore, including in poor weather conditions
