July 18, 2003 – Moscow – On Saturday, July 16th, the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) at its Marine Terminal near Novorossiysk loaded the 600th tanker since the beginning of operations. The tanker, Alan Veliki, was chartered by Tengizchevroil.
The first tanker at the CPC Marine Terminal was loaded on October 13, 2001. Since then, CPC has shipped more than 65 million tons or approximately 500 million barrels of crude oil.
CPC in June pumped around 2.3 million tons of crude oil. Since January 2005 CPC shipped over 15 million tons or about 117 million barrels of oil.
“We are very happy to celebrate this event and I would like to thank all CPC staff who contributed to this milestone,” said Ian MacDonald, CPC General Director.
The multinational ownership interest in the CPC is as follows: Russian Federation – 24%, the Republic of Kazakhstan – 19%, the Sultanate of Oman – 7%, Chevron Caspian Pipeline Consortium Company – 15%, LUKARCO B.V. – 12.5%, Rosneft/Shell Caspian Ventures Limited – 7.5%, Mobil Caspian Pipeline Company – 7.5%, Agip International (N.A.) NV –2%, BG Overseas Holding Limited – 2%, Kazakhstan Pipeline Ventures LLC – 1.75%, and Oryx Caspian Pipeline LLC– 1.75%.
