The First International-Level Skate Park Opened in Elista

On December 23, 2020, a new skate park was opened in Elista, the capital of the Republic of Kalmykia. The head of the Republic of Kalmykia Batu Khasikov, representatives of the city administration and CPC RF Government Relations Department attended the ceremony held in the Pobeda Park in neighborhood No. 7.
CPC allocated almost 12 million rubles for the construction of a specialized site for rollerblading, skateboarding and cycling. The site has inclined lateral and radius structures on the area of 1,000 m2. It includes a multifunctional skating facility simulating urban obstacles - a street plaza, which also serves as an accelerating platform for other structures. It also has extreme site figures obligatory for the skate park - quarterpipes used in freestyle in skateboarding, BMX cycling and other sports. It is equipped with a spine and several flyboxes - springboards for spectacular tricks in the air.
A special bioprotected coniferous timber inside two layers of plywood was used for construction of the skate park. Gorodskoye Zelenoye Khozyaistvo (Elista) will control the facility operation and further maintenance.
It was noted at the facility commissioning ceremony that this project was the first one of international level in the Republic. About 30 skateboarders and BMX cyclists will be able to do workouts simultaneously in the skate park.
Please note that this is not the only charity project for children and youth in Kalmykia this year. In particular, such traditional programs as CPC to First-Graders and CPC to Talented Children have been completed, and the New Year and Christmas Together with CPC program is currently underway.  In total, CPC has allocated over RUR 100 million to implementation of social projects in the Republic this year.
