CPC guarantees efficient and environmentally safe movement of crude oil

ON EVENTS OF CASPIAN PIPELINE CONSORTIUM MANAGEMENT

Press conference with participation of Nikolay Gorban, Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) General Director, Kairgeldy Kabyldin, Deputy General Director, RoK Government Relations, and Daniyar Berlibayev, Deputy Chairman of the Board, Oil Transportation, National Company “KazMunayGas”, was held on 16 February 2021 in the Central Communication Service under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

CPC key role in development of the RoK oil and gas industry as a safe and reliable raw hydrocarbon transportation system moving over two-thirds of Kazakhstan total export crude oil was noted. It was emphasized that Tengiz-Novorossiysk pipeline system became one of the largest investment projects in Kazakhstan in the energy industry within the CIS.

Traditionally, in the course of the event, CPC-K JSC operation and financial performance indicators for 2020, the Company’s business specifics on the territory of Kazakhstan in view of the coronavirus pandemic, prospects of implementation of the Debottlenecking Program (DBN) and the results of the charity activity were covered.

CPC General Director’s press conference is scheduled for 25 February 2021 in the Company’s Moscow Office. Communication with industry-specific mass media representatives will be dedicated to the Consortium’s performance results in the past year and plans for the milestone 2021 year in operation, safety and environmental protection, corporate social responsibility. This year, the Company celebrates several memorable dates, including 25 years since the signing of the Shareholders Agreement, which inaugurated the Company’s establishment in its present form.

The CPC pipeline system is one of the largest investment projects with foreign capital in the energy sector in the CIS. The length of Tengiz-Novorossiysk pipeline is 1,511 km; more than two thirds of all export crude oil from Kazakhstan and crude oil from the Russian fields, including those in the Caspian Region, are transported by this route. CPC Marine Terminal is equipped with three Single Point Moorings (SPM) that allow to load tankers safely at a significant distance offshore, also in poor weather conditions.

CPC Shareholders: Russian Federation (represented by Transneft – 24% and CPC Company – 7%) – 31%; Republic of Kazakhstan (represented by Kazmunaygaz – 19% and Kazakhstan Pipeline Ventures LLC – 1.75%) – 20.75%; Chevron Caspian Pipeline Consortium Company - 15%, LUKARCO B.V. - 12.5%, Mobil Caspian Pipeline Company – 7.5%, Rosneft-Shell Caspian Ventures Limited – 7.5%, BG Overseas Holding Limited - 2%, Eni International N.A. N.V. - 2% and Oryx Caspian Pipeline LLC – 1.75%.
