  • The 1,510-km pipeline extends from the Tengiz oil field in Kazakhstan to a newly constructed Novorossiisk-2 Marine Terminal on Russia’s Black Sea coast.
  • The pipeline diameter is 1,067 mm between Kropotkin and the terminal and 1,016 mm for the rest of the pipeline.
  • The Marine Terminal includes three Single Point Moorings (two are completed during the first phase of the project) designed to handle tankers up to 300,000 dwt. In addition, the Marine Terminal section includes three 1,067-mm submarine pipelines, with the throughput capacity of 12.7 thousand m3 per hour. The Tank Farm consists of 10 steel storage tanks of 100 thousand m3 each, with 4 of them completed during the first phase of the project.
  • The total number of Pump Stations after expansion will be 15, of which 5 are presently constructed and operating.
  • The throughput of the first phase of the pipeline is rated at 28.2 million tons of oil per year.
  • After all phases of the pipeline have been completed, the maximum throughput of the CPC pipeline system will reach 67 million tons of oil per year.
  • The following structures for the pipeline system fall within the framework of the first phase:
    - A new Marine Terminal with a Tank Farm on the Black Sea coast near the port of Novorossiisk, Russia.
    - A new section of the line pipe and an upgrade to the existing Russian pipeline section from the Kazakhstan-Russian border to the Komsomolskaya Pump Station, Russia.
    - New Pump Stations in Kropotkin and Komsomolskaya and an upgrade to the Astrakhanskaya Pump Station in Russia.
    - Fiber-optic, cable-based SCADA — an integrated Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition system for constant automatic monitoring of pipeline operations.
    - An upgrade to the pipeline section from the Tengiz Pump Station to the Russian border, a new Pump Station in Atyrau and an upgrade to the Tengiz Pump Station in Kazakhstan.
