CPC guarantees efficient and environmentally safe movement of crude oil

Meeting with KazMunayGas Management

A meeting between Bulat Zakirov, Deputy Chairman of the KazMunayGas Board, and Nikolay Gorban, CPC General Director, was held in Astana on January 13, 2023.

During the meeting, they discussed CPC business performance in 2022 and plans for the current year. The parties also discussed further cooperation under the international project and volumes of hydrocarbons, which the consortium is ready to transport from KazMunayGaz resources in 2023.

The progress of Debottlenecking Program (DBNP) implemented by CPC since 2019 was reviewed in detail. It was noted that at the end of the previous year CPC successfully completed the DBNP scope of work at key facilities - Tengiz PS and Astrakhan PS and will be ready to accept additional volumes of crude oil in 2023.

Timely implementation of equipment overhaul and maintenance programs at CPC sites, current industrial safety performance and results of the roll-out of new occupational health and safety culture programs were also topics of discussion. The parties agreed to continue an active experience sharing in this area.

CPC Pipeline System is one of the major investment projects with foreign capital in energy sector in the CIS. The length of the Tengiz – Novorossiysk pipeline is 1,511 km. This route transports over two-thirds of all Kazakhstan export crude, as well as crude from Russian oil fields, including those in the Caspian Region. CPC Marine Terminal is equipped with three Single Point Moorings (SPM) that allow to load tankers safely at a significant distance offshore, also amid poor weather conditions.
