On August 19,
2023, Novorossiysk Forum Square hosted the II classical music festival -
"Novorossiysk Chimes". A large-scale five-hour gala concert on the
Black Sea coast was held with the support of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium
and in cooperation with the Autonomous Non-Profit Organization "Black Sea
Symphony Orchestra". Alexey Batura,
Deputy Minister of Culture of Krasnodar Krai, Novorossiysk Municipality Head
Andrey Kravchenko, Ekaterina Semchenko, CPC-R Chief Representative, Regional
Authority Relations, and Festival Artistic Director Yulia Kosyakova welcomed
the Festival participants and guests.The
Novorossiysk Chimes sound in the open air of the hero-city for the second year,
which suggests the birth of a new good tradition. This year, over 250
performers participated in the Festival, including the full Black Sea Symphony
Orchestra conducted by Konstantin Milyoshkin and Alexei Pugachyov. Moscow
violinists Sergei Pospelov and Tatiana Breslavskaya, accordionist Maxim
Fyodorov, opera singers Tatiana Yeremina (Krasnodar) and Kirill Chursin
(Rostov-on-Don) were the soloists. Famous symphonic works by Gioacchino
Rossini, Edvard Grieg, Pal Abraham, Imre Kalman, Aram Khachaturian, Pyotr
Tchaikovsky, Dmitry Shostakovich and other famous composers, music from movies,
opera arias and scenes from ballets, waltzes and tangos - about 50 compositions
in total - were performed. The repertoire was selected taking into account the
significant dates celebrated by Novorossiysk this year - the 185th anniversary
of the founding of Novorossiysk, the 80th anniversary of the city's liberation
from Nazi invaders, and the 50th anniversary of the awarding of the honorary
title "Hero-City" to Novorossiysk.
Like last
year, the Novorossiysk Chimes used collapsible, quick-erecting grandstands and
a stage complex purchased for the city in 2021 by the Caspian Pipeline
Consortium. Thanks to this, all Festival guests - and there were about 5
thousands of them - were comfortable, could see and hear well. Those who had no
opportunity of attending the Forum Square in Novorossiysk that evening could
watch the Festival on-line broadcast.
Support to
culture and art is one of the leading aspects of CPC charity activity in the
host regions. The Consortium’s charity projects and social programs in the
hero-city are being implemented under the Cooperation Agreement with the
Municipality signed in 2022 by CPC General Director Nikolay Gorban and
Novorossiysk Mayor Andrey Kravchenko. The collaboration will soon continue with
the annual "CPC to First Graders" project, followed by other
traditional events.
For information:
CPC Pipeline System is one of the major
investment projects with foreign capital in energy sector in the CIS. The
length of the Tengiz – Novorossiysk pipeline is 1,511 km. This route transports
over two-thirds of all Kazakhstan export crude, as well as crude from Russian
oil fields, including those in the Caspian Region. CPC Marine Terminal is
equipped with three Single Point Moorings (SPM) that allow to load tankers
safely at a significant distance offshore, also amid poor weather conditions.
