On 16 January
2024, Almasadam Satkaliyev, Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan,
held a business meeting with CPC General Director Nikolay Gorban in Astana. In
the course of the conversation, the international Consortium’s 2023 operation
performance results and plans for the current year were discussed.
The Company’s
Head informed the Minister that in the previous year CPC had transported 63.5
mln. tons of oil, or almost 4.8 mln. tons more than the 2022 indicator. 2023
was also the most productive year for the Consortium in terms of shipment
volumes in the Company's history.
Kazakhstani Shippers accounted for 56 mln. tons of 63.5 mln. tons.
In 2024, the
Consortium plans to pump approximately 70 mln. tons for export. CPC adopted
this volume for budgeting purpose based on the Shippers’ nominations.
Implementation
of the Debottlenecking Program (DBNP) continues at a high pace. The DBNP
milestone stages were completed successfully back in 2022: all facilities at
Tengiz PS and Astrakhan PS were constructed and put into operation in full scope.
In addition, construction of a new lease automatic custody transfer (LACT) at
the Marine Terminal became the Program milestone in 2023.
CPC General
Director pointed out that the Consortium’s team makes every effort to ensure
that the Tengiz-Novorossiysk Pipeline System continues to be the safest, most
logistically sound and cost-efficient route for delivering Caspian oil to world
markets.
For information:
CPC Pipeline System is one of the major
investment projects with foreign capital in energy sector in the CIS. The
length of the Tengiz – Novorossiysk pipeline is 1,511 km. This route transports
over two-thirds of all Kazakhstan export crude, as well as crude from Russian
oil fields, including those in the Caspian Region. CPC Marine Terminal is equipped
with three Single Point Moorings (SPM) that allow to load tankers safely at a
significant distance offshore, also amid poor weather conditions.
