CPC Sent Additional Specializes Vehicles to Protect Eastern Region Facilities from Floods

4.jpgOn 15 April 2024, a convoy of specialized vehicles from the Astrakhan Oblast arrived in Atyrau. Four excavators and two dump trucks were relocated by Caspian Pipeline Consortium from the Central Region to the Eastern Region for technical support to CPC-K facilities vehicle pool engaged in the construction of protective fortifications in the Ural River flood conditions (expected continuation of water level rise).
Possibility of relocating specialized vehicles from the Russian territory to the Republic of Kazakhstan had preliminary been settled with Atyrau Oblast Akimat who assisted in prompt crossing of the state border on 14 April and who also ensured that the convoy of specialized vehicles was escorted by a traffic police car.
A number of flood control measures have been implemented at Atyrau PS as of today. Protective bunds have been erected around the perimeter of the buildings and structures (which include the operator's room, diesel power station, water treatment plant, radio shelters, etc.). The height of the mainline ball valve (MBV) diking at KP209 of the trunk crude pipeline was increased.
5.jpgThe diking of Atyrau PS territory along the perimeter, AGLDS, MBV at KP 192 and KP 197 is in progress and a protective dam in the area of the landfill is being constructed. At the Sokolok canal (190 km), work is underway to clear the streambed, dismantle the culvert and construct a protective dam. On the Chernaya Rechka side, CPC specialized vehicles are constructing an earthen berm to protect the facilities of CPC-K, KazTransOil and Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V. (including  Kassymov PS and motor road) against possible waterlogging.
Flood control measures are also carried out on the shoreline of the Ural River. Here, near Bereke settlement, a protective dam of over 5 km long is being constructed. Forty units of specialized vehicles, including 28 dam trucks and excavators, bulldozers and road rollers are engaged at the construction site. Geotextile and sandbags are used in construction and reinforcement of the dam. The Consortium provided 8,600 sq.m of geotextile and 300,000 sandbags to construct the dam near Bereke settlement.  All CPC Facilities are currently operating in a standard mode.
