Fire Tactical Drill at Atyrau PS

drills2.jpgOn 22 August 2024, fire tactical drill was conducted at Atyrau PS to extinguish a simulated fire. 85 specialists, 10 units of vehicles, including seven fire trucks, participated in the drill conducted by CPC-K together with the Atyrau Region Emergencies Department.
The drill scenario included an oil spill on the bund of SVFRT-20000 tank with subsequent simulated fire. Combat crews of fire brigades of FIRE SAFETY TOO and Atyrau Oblast Emergencies Department and Atyrau PS security teams, personnel and members of voluntary fire brigades demonstrated coordinated actions during containment and elimination of a conditional emergency. The Management of the Regional Emergencies Department praised the successful fulfillment of the tactical plan, excellent organization and interaction of resources and equipment of the drill participants. Based on the drill results, the actions of fire units and volunteer fire brigades were evaluated as “good”.
The Caspian Pipeline Consortium conducts at least 10 large-scale oil spill response and firefighting drills annually. CPC conducts large-scale exercises on a regular basis, thus allowing to assess the readiness of CPC crude pipeline operation teams, Security and dispatchers of the Consortium to emergencies.drills4.jpg

CPC Pipeline System is one of the major projects in energy sector in the CIS. The length of the Tengiz – Novorossiysk pipeline is 1,511 km. This route transports over two-thirds of all Kazakhstan export oil, and crude from Russian oil fields, including those in the Caspian Region. CPC Marine Terminal is equipped with three Single Point Moorings (SPM) that allow to load tankers safely at a significant distance offshore.
