CPC Successfully Passed HSE Management System Re-Certification Audit

20250606-1.jpgMay 2025 – Caspian Pipeline Consortium successfully passed a third-party re-certification audit of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Management System for compliance with ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 international standards.

CPC-R JSC audit was delivered by RT-Techpriemka JSC on behalf of EUROCERT S.A. certification authority with an internationally recognized ESYD accreditation (Greece). SSU DQS LLC delivered the audit in CPC-K JSC on behalf of DQS RUS LLC certification authority with an internationally recognized NABCB accreditation (India).

Third-party experts delivered spot-check inspections of CPC-R and CPC-K facilities.

20250606-2.jpgThe existing HSE MS system was found efficient; the audit revealed a commitment to its ongoing improvement.

The following HSE best practices applied by the Company were noted:

- Leadership and commitment of the Company's management and personnel to HSE MS Policy and objectives;

- Digitization of HSE-related operations/management activities;

- Involvement of the Company and contractors’ personnel, incorporation of their performance results into HSE MS target indicators;

- Implementation of dedicated state and regional programs (lean production, raising efficiency, safe working conditions, environmental safety);

- Availability of individual professional development programs, teamwork, streamlined personnel motivation procedures;

- Separate storage of hazardous chemicals, availability of fire/gas detection systems;

- Implemented lock-out/tag-out systems for electrical and mechanical process equipment at the facilities;

- Awareness and organizational events dedicated to environmental safety;

- Use of visual representation of work safety rules: outdoor and indoor stands, brochures, leaders’ workarounds, permits to work issuance, observation cards, videos, including entertainment videos.

The above practices are indicative of the CPC HSE Management System maturity, as well as its steady progress towards an independent level of Safety Culture development. Application of the practices demonstrates sustainable development in this area.

Findings of the 2025 re-certification audit have yet again validated that the Consortium is compliant with ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 international standards.

CPC Environmental Management System (EMS) was first certified according to ISО 14001:2004 international standard in 2009, OHS Management System was certified in accordance with OHSAS 18001:2007 international standard in 2010. They were integrated into the unified CPC HSE Management System in 2015, and in 2019, the transition to the new versions of ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 was accomplished.

CPC Pipeline System is one of the major projects in energy sector in the CIS. The length of the Tengiz – Novorossiysk pipeline is 1,511 km. This route transports over two-thirds of all Kazakhstan export oil, and crude from Russian oil fields, including those in the Caspian Region. CPC Marine Terminal is equipped with three Single Point Moorings (SPM) that allow to load tankers safely at a significant distance offshore.
