The 25th Session of the Governing Board with the authority of the International Association of Oil Transporters (IAOT) meeting took place in Sochi on June 10, 2025. For the first time ever since being accepted as a full-fledged member of the organization the Caspian Pipeline Consortium hosted the notable event.
Chaired by N. Gorban, the General Director of the Consortium, the Session participants reviewed business matters of the Association pertaining to 2024-2025 and approved financial and audit reports. The event attendees were presented with information on activities of the ‘Efficient, Reliable and Safe Operation of Trunk Pipeline Systems’ Standing Expert Group, as well as on the results of the IAOT Center for Creation and Development of Professional Excellence session.
Association members discussed issues related to organizing the ‘Best in Profession’ International Professional Skill Contest and supported creation of the fifth Standing Expert Group (SEG) on energy security and risk management. As a reminder, at the moment there are four standing expert groups within the IAOT: on energy efficiency, on legal matters, on deliveries, and ‘Efficient, Reliable and Safe Operation of Trunk Pipeline Systems’ SEG.

The upgrade of CPC status (in April 2024) from an observer to a member of the IAOT has expanded business communications quality, significantly improved experience and best practices sharing, and created ample opportunities for a comprehensive and fruitful technological dialogue.
The IAOT Governing Board unanimously supported the initiative of CPC to establish platform for industry-wide discussions and experience exchange in the field of Health, Industrial Safety, and Environmental Protection within the framework of IAOT. At the moment, CPC has already accumulated significant progress in and continues to further improve the efficient Safe Work Culture practices, including the Health, Safety and Environment Leadership Culture as the unalienable constituent part thereof. Moreover, the Consortium has incorporated CPC Life Saving Rules 12+1 and other measures aimed at achieving accident-free operation, which also apply to contractors of the Company. Policies of the CPC HSE Strategic Plan for 2025-2027 are being consistently implemented. The tangible result of the effort is that CPC attained almost 3.5 mln man-hours (including contractors) free of injuries and incidents in the first quarter of this year, while the motor vehicles ran about 8.2 mln km without MVAs in the same period.
