Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC, which runs from oil fields in western Kazakhstan to Marine Terminal in Novorossiysk) has commissioned two pump stations (APS-4A and APS-5A) in Astrakhan Oblast as part of its Expansion Project. Their commissioning will increase the capacity of the Atyrau PS (Kazakhstan)-Komsomolsk PS (Kalmykia) segment by 10 MMTA.  In addition, it is planned to put into operation another three pump stations in Stavropol Krai (Q3), Kazakhstan and Kalmykia (by the end of the year).  “This pump station is the remotest from settlements, and it is being constructed in rough conditions”, said Nikolay Gorban, CPC CEO. This September CPC will complete in full its capacity expansion up to 67MMTA that started in 2011. The Project total cost is estimated at USD 5.4 bn.
The consortium plans to pump about 65.7 MMTA in 2017. CPC expects 54 MMTA from producers in Kazakhstan and 11 MMTA from Russian companies. “We are coming to transportation of 5MM tons per month. The plan for this month is 4.8MM tons”, informed CPC CEO.
According to Gorban, Kashagan’s (Kazakhstan) 2017 nomination is for 11 MMTA but CPC expects to receive 8.1 MMTA so far.  “The Kazakhstani party claims to deliver 8-9 MMTA this year”, he said.  According to the CPC CEO, CPC received 1.9 MM tons from this field over four months. Additional 6.2MM tons are to be recieved by the end of the year.
