The
certification audit of the CPC Occupational Health and Safety Management System (HSMS) conducted by the recognized international certification agency BSI (British Standards Institute) has completed successfully. According to the audit findings, the developed and implemented CPC HSMS covering its all operations in all subdivisions located in Kazakhstan and Russia is fully in line with OHSAS 18001:2007.
The registration certificate issued to CPC acknowledges that the CPC HSE Policy, its staff competence, procedures, processes and practices comply with the internationally recognized standard. The CPC obtaining of the OHSAS 18001:2007 certificate confirms that the company has built the management system assuring the compliance with the law; the monitoring of CPC operational and professional risks is done regularly. CPC controls these risks and takes care of its staff safety and health protection at work.
“The attainment of the OHSAS 18001 certificate represents another step in the continuous development of CPC’s management systems. The decision to adopt this international standard reflects a determination to reduce all occupational health and safety risks in CPC operations and to independently verify our programs through internationally recognized methods. CPC’s Health, Safety and Environmental performance record is already very good, we intend that the continuous verification program of OHS 18001 continues to further enhance our performance”, believes David Marshall, HSE General Manager, CPC.
“The HSMS as per BS OHSAS 18001:2007 became the second management system implemented and certified in CPC. The continuous implementation of very complex projects on development and introduction of management systems as per ISO 14001: 2004 and BS OHSAS 18001:2007 demonstrates the CPC management adherence to high quality standards of work. This success would not have become possible without great involvement of the company’s top management and the coherent team of specialists from different countries who managed to combine various system components not only to meet legislative requirements but to exceed them, thus, raising the company to the high level of best world practices”, stated Evgeny Shepilov, Operating Director, BSI Management Systems CIS.
