On September 1, approximately eight and a half thousand of the first-graders in Astrakhan Oblast, Republic of Kalmykia, Krasnodar Krai and Stavropol Krai received new school bags complete with the school accessories as a greeting by Caspian Pipeline Consortium on the event most important for the children.
Purchase of the school accessories sets and distribution thereof among the first-graders within the regions of the pipeline route is a long-standing tradition of the Consortium. The "CPC for the First-Graders" charity program supports children from lower-income and disadvantaged families for whom a new school bag with exercise-books, plasticine, felt-tipped pens, paints and other "new life" symbols of a young person is a veritable gift. Schoolbags with the required stationary were also received by the first-graders of the correction schools and orphanages in Stavropol Krai and Krasnodar Krai, Republic of Kalmykia and Astrakhan Oblast.
The "CPC for the First-Graders" program has long become one of the most significant and appreciated in the regions. "I do believe that there is a good reason for it as the program provides assistance to the future schoolchildren whose parents cannot prepare them for the forthcoming school year. Meanwhile, each child would want to be no worse than other children around him, especially on this significant day in his life", - noted Nikolay Platonov, CPC General Director.
Apart from the annual charity program known in the regions, within the framework of its Expansion Project the Consortium participates in improvement of the conditions of education of the children within the regions, in particular, in the master overhaul of the Enotayevskaya Secondary School in Astrakhan Oblast, construction of the canteen facilities of School No. 18 of Kavkazsky District of Kransnodar Krai, an artificial grass sports field for School No. 31 in Novorossiysk; reconstruction of the primary school in Iki-Burul, Republic of Kalmykia, is planned, as well as other projects.
CPC Pipeline System is one of the major investment energy projects with foreign participation in the CIS. The pipeline that transports crude oil from the oil fields of Western Kazakhstan to the Marine Terminal in Novorossiysk is 1,511 km long. CPC Marine Terminal is equipped with single-point moorings, which enable safe loading of into tankers at a considerable distance from the shore, including in adverse weather conditions.
