CPC Operates In Accordance with High International Standards

Caspian Pipeline Consortium was successfully re-certified in ОНSAS 18001:2007 standard and also confirmed the efficiency of ISO 14001:2004 standard requirements in environmental management. This fact is supported by a report issued by international organization called BSI (British Standards Institution) on the basis of an audit.
Matters of environmental protection and industrial safety are the Company’s priorities. Changes in the industrial safety and labor protection legislation are monitored and the Consortium’s business compliance with the established requirements is assessed on a quarterly basis. Key indicators of all operations which may have potential impact on the environment are monitored on a permanent basis. Emergency response drills are conducted regularly at the facilities for the Company’s Management and personnel. In 2012 alone 10 oil spill response drills, 7 fire drills and about three hundred exercises were conducted at CPC Facilities. Based on the comprehensive joint drills MChS positive conclusions were received that the Consortium was well-prepared to emergency response.
“Conducted audit officially confirmed that our Company operates in accordance with high international standards, ensuring environmental and industrial safety in compliance with the stated Policy for Health, Safety and Environmental Protection”, - noted Rick Spivey, Consortium’s HSE General Manager.
CPC pipeline system is one of the largest investment projects in the energy industry with participation of foreign capital on the CIS territory. The length of the pipeline connecting the oil fields in Western Kazakhstan with the Marine Terminal near Novorossiysk is 1,511 km. CPC Marine Terminal is equipped with single point moorings which allow for safe tanker lifting at a considerable distance from the shore, also when the weather conditions are unfavorable.
