CPC: artificial reproduction of aquatic bioresources program is complete

From 30 September to 2 October Caspian Pipeline Consortium performed the final release of juvenile Black Sea salmons within the compensatory measures aimed at artificial reproduction of aquatic biological resources. In total 120 thousand of juvenile salmons were released to the Mzymta and the Shakhe rivers near Monastyr settlement, Krasnodar Krai. The event was attended by representatives of the Azov Sea / Black Sea Territorial Authority of the Federal Fishery Agency.
It should be noted that the Black Sea salmon (Black Sea brown trout) is included in the European Red List as well as the Red Book of the Russian Federation and is currently on the verge of extinction.
Last year more than 390 thousand juvenile salmons were released into the Black Sea basin rivers. Juvenile salmons had been raised at CPC-R’s special request in the following fish hatcheries: Laura LLC, Adler Production & Experimental Salmon Hatchery and Jegosh Production & Experimental Salmon Hatchery. In total over 2014 and 2015 the Black Sea salmon population has increased by more than a half a million of juvenile salmons with the CPC support.
CPC pipeline system is one of the largest investment projects in the energy industry with participation of foreign capital on the CIS territory. The length of the pipeline connecting the oil fields in Western Kazakhstan with the Marine Terminal near Novorossiysk is 1,511 km. CPC Marine Terminal is equipped with single point moorings which allow for safe tanker lifting at a considerable distance from the shore, also when the weather conditions are unfavorable.
