New trolleybuses as gift to hero city

CPC on June 9 handed over as a gift to hero city Novorossiysk 4 new passenger trolleybuses as part of its community-related programs.

A formal key-handover ceremony was attended by Leonid Bokhanovskiy, CPC-R Deputy General Director, RF Government Affairs, Igor Dyachenko, First Deputy Mayor of Novorossiysk, other representatives of the city administration, a trolleybus company and the local public.

The modern comfortable low-floor transport is designed to carry Novossiysk residents on regular city routes. Each trolleybus can carry 106 passengers, all seats are fitted out with anti-vandalism coating, the passenger cabin is air conditioned. The “speaking city” system installed in the trolleybuses allows weak-sight passengers to find their way around the bus. The total cost of the vehicles was over RUR 40 million.

Igor Dyachenko thanked the CPC management for the support the company was providing to the city, responsiveness and robust management of community-related projects. He commented that CPC had been doing a great deal for the municipality, not just in transport but also in other areas. Leonid Bokhanovskiy replied that CPC would not stop at what had been achieved and wished Novossiysk residents to travel around the city fast, in comfort, and, most importantly, safely. Once the guests of honor cut a symbolic ribbon and inspected the trolleybuses inside, the new transport got under way on route with the first passengers.

From 2013 till 2014, the municipal vehicle fleet received from CPC 18 new buses intended to carry Novorossiysk citizens, including handicapped people. In 2009, CPC had purchased 6 new trolleybuses for routes in the city center.

CPC pipeline system is one of the largest investment projects in the energy industry with participation of foreign capital on the CIS territory. The length of the pipeline connecting the oil fields in Western Kazakhstan with the Marine Terminal near Novorossiysk is 1,511 km. CPC Marine Terminal is equipped with single point moorings which allow for safe tanker lifting at a considerable distance from the shore, also when the weather conditions are unfavorable.
