First book about Taras Kassymov – honored worker of Kazakhstan oil

Today, on October 5 2016 a book about Honored Worker of RK Oil and Gas Industry T.M. Kassymov was presented in Almaty. The event was attended by public figures of the country, representatives of oil and gas industry, relatives and friends of Taras Kassymov.

The book is dedicated to the life and activities of the oilman who is well-known in the country and held for many years an important office of the General Director of Production Association Yuzhnefteprovod, Director of the Aktau Branch of AO Kazakhstancaspiyshelf, universal specialist performing many other managerial functions, qualified scientist, holder of state decorations Taras Mazhitovich Kassymov.

The publication describes an enormous contribution of T. Kassymov to the development of oil industry in Kazakhstan. The author of the book Rakhat Kosbarmak sets out in detail the genealogy of the hero, the past and the present of the oil region inextricably intertwined with the life and work of the glorious veteran. One of the book chapters consists of testimonials about Taras Kassymov. Famous public figures share their recollections about the years of joint work.

The book is published under the biographical series “Kazak munayynyn ardaktylary” of Public Fund “Munayshy” named after N.A. Marabaev. CPC-K sponsored the book publication.

“Kassymov’s name is associated with the milestones in the industrial, economic and social transformations in the RK pipeline transport. Taras Mazhitovich took an active part in the establishment and development of Caspian Pipeline Consortium. This is a great honor for us to support the publication of the book about such a legendary personality”, - noted in his speech CPC-K Deputy General Director Kairgeldy Kabyldin.

CPC pipeline system is one of the largest investment projects in the energy industry with participation of foreign capital on the CIS territory. The length of the pipeline connecting the oil fields in Western Kazakhstan with the Marine Terminal near Novorossiysk is 1,511 km. CPC Marine Terminal is equipped with single point moorings which allow for safe tanker lifting at a considerable distance from the shore, also when the weather conditions are unfavorable.

The Expansion Project includes rehabilitation of 5 existing and construction of 10 additional pump stations (2 in the Republic of Kazakhstan and 8 in the Russian Federation), six new storage tanks (100,000 cu.m each) in addition to the existing four near Novorossiysk and a third SPM at the CPC Marine Terminal, and also the replacement of an 88 km pipeline section in Kazakhstan with a larger diameter pipe. The total amount of the Project investments will be US$ 5.4 billion.
