CPC General Director visits PS in Kazakhstan

On December 6, 2016, Nikolay Gorban, Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) General Director, visited the Atyrau injection pump station. The pump station commissioned in 2002 is located at KP217 of the Tengiz – Novorossiysk mainline pipeline. In 2015, the station finished being upgraded as part of the second phase of the Expansion Project of the CPC oil pipeline system.
Nikolay Gorban inspected the station’s operator premises and process equipment. Special attention was paid to the new recently-commissioned custody transfer meter (CTM) No. 9 used to inject oil from the Kashagan offshore field into the CPC pipeline system. The CTM has a capacity of 3,000 m³ per hour capable to be doubled.
Currently, the Atyrau pump station meters receive oil from the Kashagan and Karachaganak fields from such shippers as Embamunaygaz, Ozenmunaygaz, Kazakh Oil Aktobe, South Oil and Matin Petroleum.
During his visit to the facility, CPC General Director Nikolay Gorban noted the reliable operation of equipment and high professional training of station specialists. Total Atyrau PS personnel headcount is 48 people, including 9 additional workplaces created as a result of the completion of the Expansion project.
