CPC guarantees efficient and environmentally safe movement of crude oil

CPC General Director made a working trip to A-PS-3A in Kazakhstan

On April 5, 2017, CPC General Director Nikolay Gorban visited A-PS-3A in Kazakhstan. This facility is being built as part of the Expansion Project to increase the Tengiz – Novorossiysk pipeline capacity up to 67 million tons of oil per annum.
The construction contractor, KazStroyServis, reported about 93% readiness of the facility. At the moment a pre-startup safety review is being completed of sub-facilities necessary to connect the pump station to the mainline oil pipeline, which is planned for the second decade of April, 2017.
Jointly with Control Systems and Communications (CS&C), preparation work is in progress and loop checks are planned to start on April 10, 2017.
An indoor switchgear, a control room and a number of process sub-facilities  and equipment are energized. Indoor switchgear and control room HVAC systems are put in operation.
Mainline unit luboil systems are being flushed. Civil engineering work and individual equipment testing are in progress.
The visit ended with a meeting with the General Contractor and the project management company to summarize its results. During the meeting, the mechanical completion schedule for the facility was updated.
As a reminder, A-PS-3A is scheduled to be commissioned in the second half of 2017.

CPC pipeline system is one of the largest investment projects in the energy industry with participation of foreign capital on the CIS territory. The length of the pipeline connecting the oil fields in Western Kazakhstan with the Marine Terminal near Novorossiysk is 1,511 km. CPC Marine Terminal is equipped with single point moorings which allow for safe tanker lifting at a considerable distance from the shore, also when the weather conditions are unfavorable.
