CPC Held International Safety Day

On 22 August 2017, Caspian Pipeline Consortium held International Safety Day in Stavropol. The opening ceremony was attended by CPC General Director Nikolay Gorban.
Stavropol Krai Governor Vladimir Vladimirov made a welcome address.
It is the sixth time this year that CPC holds the Safety Day. The previous five events were within the CPC Expansion Project, but the Consortium Management decided that completion of a large-scale construction should not put an end to a good tradition.  The Safety Day purposes remained unchanged – enhancement of CPC staff and contractors motivation in industrial safety and occupational health. 10 teams participated in the event, representing the Consortium units and contractors  ООО Velesstroi, ООО Starstroi, ООО Stroicontract, АО Chernomortransneft, ZАО Trust Koksokhimmontazh and others. The total number of participants was about 400.
Through competition, the teams were given the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge, skills and level of training in industrial safety.  Contests were organized to cover the following areas: environment, medicine, road traffic safety, fire service, analysis of near-miss risks and prompt response thereto, application of personal and collective protection equipment.
Besides, the participants could show their various abilities in the amateur performance contest, covering on/off-the-job safety topics.
At the Safety Day closing ceremony, the best contesters received valuable gifts and prizes.
When rewarding the winners, CPC General Director Nikolay Gorban noted that such competitions could have neither victors nor losers: additional test of knowledge and skills contributed to safety level enhancement at fuel/energy facilities, with the man being the primary winner, because life was priceless.
