CPC guarantees efficient and environmentally safe movement of crude oil

CPC augments Novorossiysk bus fleet

20170912.jpgOn September 12 CPC General Director Nikolay Gorban and Novorossiysk City Mayor 12 Igor Dyachenko attended a ceremony to hand over 5 route LIAZ buses to city. The ceremony took place as part of a Novorossiysk City Day festivity program.

The passenger buses were purchased at a cost of over 37 million roubles using charity funds provided by the international consortium and constitute CPC’s contribution towards developing Novorossiysk’s social infrastructure.

The buses are Model LIAZ 429260, low-floor, modern, comfortable, and are equipped with air-conditioners, electronic information displays, a navigation system and an automatic firefighting system. The buses are also specially equipped to fix and transport a wheelchair.

As a reminder, CPC and Novorossiysk signed a cooperation agreement in January 2017. The document is aimed at developing and increasing the efficiency of Novorossiysk’s industrial and transport infrastructure and CPC’s facilities, as well strengthening the city’s financial and economic position and improving its investment climate. In total, over the past five years, CPC has allocated over 500 million roubles to Novorissiysk for social needs.

CPC pipeline system is one of the largest investment projects in the energy industry with participation of foreign capital on the CIS territory. The length of the pipeline connecting the oil fields in Western Kazakhstan with the Marine Terminal near Novorossiysk is 1,511 km. CPC Marine Terminal is equipped with single point moorings which allow for safe tanker lifting at a considerable distance from the shore, also when the weather conditions are unfavorable.

The Expansion Project includes rehabilitation of 5 existing and construction of 10 additional pump stations (2 in the Republic of Kazakhstan and 8 in the Russian Federation), six new storage tanks (100,000 cu.m each) in addition to the existing four near Novorossiysk and a third SPM at the CPC Marine Terminal, and also the replacement of an 88 km pipeline section in Kazakhstan with a larger diameter pipe. The total amount of the Project investments will be US$ 5.4 billion.
