Stavropol Krai Environmental Project “Conserve Our Native Land”

Caspian Pipeline Consortium and the Stavropol Krai Administration have started the implementation of a joint environmental project “Conserve Our Native Land”. Participants of the project: Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment Protection of the Stavropol Krai, Ministry of Education and Youth Policy of the Region with support of the Stavropol State Agrarian University, Stavropol Krai Branch of the All-Russia Public Environment Protection Organization “Public Environmental Control of Russia”.   
The main objective of the project is to increase the population of red deer and axis deer in the nature reserves “Lesnaya dacha”, “Russky les” and “Buguntinsky”, as well as to organize environment awareness-raising work with the coming generation.
The project “Conserve Our Native Land” will comprise theme open lessons for school pupils and various competitions for children:
• art competition “Beauty of deer – beauty of the world”;
• photo competition ”Wildlife in Stavropol Krai conservation areas”;
• video competition “Young eco-reporter”;
• writing competition on restoration of the deer population in the Krai.
The winners and runners-up of the competitions in each age group will get diplomas, letters of award and valuable gifts. The children best works will be published in a commemorative album, while distinguished competition participants will take part in the ceremony of deer release into the habitat.

The CPC pipeline system is one of the largest investment projects with foreign capital in the energy sector in the CIS. The length of the pipeline connecting oil fields in Western Kazakhstan with the Marine Terminal in Novorossiysk is 1,511 km. CPC’s Marine Terminal is equipped with Single Point Moorings that allow to load tankers safely at a significant distance offshore, including bad weather conditions.
