CPC guarantees efficient and environmentally safe movement of crude oil

CPC completed the regional project of “Protect Nature of Our Native Land” program in Stavropolie

On March 14, 2018 CPC management and Stavropol krai Administration reflected on the regional project on preservation and reproduction of red deer and axis deer within the Caspian Pipeline Consortium environmental and educational program “Protect Nature of Our Native Land”. Nikolay Gorban, General Director, Nikolay Velikdan, Stavropol Krai Government First Chairman, and Andrey Khlopyanov, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Protection of the Stavropol krai, awarded pupils who had become winners and runners-up of the art competitions taken place within the project. Soon after the awarding ceremony the winners participated in the ceremony of deer release into the habitat.  
It bears reminding that the environmental project implemented in the Stavropol kray by CPC charity funds was supported by the Regional Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment Protection of the Stavropol Krai and Ministry of Education and Youth Policy with the assistance of the Stavropol State Agrarian University. All activities were administrated by Regional Branch of the All-Russia Public Environment Protection Organization "Public Environmental Control of Russia" in the Stavropol krai.    
The main goal of the project estimated at 5 mln. rubles is to increase the population of red deer and axis deer in the nature reserves "Lesnaya dacha", "Russky les" and "Buguntinsky", as well as to organize environment awareness-raising work with the coming generation.
There were arranged theme-based demonstration lessons for the pupils and numerous competitions for the children:
• art competition "Beauty of deer – beauty of the world";
• photo competition "Wildlife in Stavropol Krai conservation areas";
• video competition "Young eco-reporter";
• writing competition on restoration of the deer population in the Krai.
Caspian Pipeline Consortium Program “Protect Nature of Our Native Land” has been implemented in the regions of the CPC oil pipeline presence for 5 years already. According to this program threatened sturgeon species in the Astrakhan oblast, saigas, demoiselle and threatened tulip breeds in Kalmykia, red deer and axis deer in the Stavropol krai became the objects to protect during this period of time. The Consortium has spent a total of 20 million rubles for the environmental educational and zootechnical activities and programs.

CPC pipeline system is one of the largest investment projects in the energy industry with participation of foreign capital on the CIS territory. The length of the pipeline connecting the oil fields in Western Kazakhstan with the Marine Terminal near Novorossiysk is 1,511 km. CPC Marine Terminal is equipped with single point moorings which allow for safe tanker lifting at a considerable distance from the shore, also when the weather conditions are unfavorable.
