CPC guarantees efficient and environmentally safe movement of crude oil

The Project is designed to increase the trunk pipeline capacity

Volumes Loaded at CPC Marine Terminal in April

111.jpgIn April 2018, 5,068,484 gross tons (40,107,909 barrels) of crude oil were lifted from CPC-R Marine Terminal, or 362,673 tons (7%) more than during the same period of the last year.

2,536,551 tons of lifted 5,068,484 tons of crude oil come from Tengiz field, 925,887 tons - from Karachaganak field, 897,376 tons - from Kashagan field and also slightly over 190,000 tons - from other Producers. The Russian Shippers exported 518,461 gross tons of crude oil through CPC-R crude pipeline system in April.

In total, since the beginning of the year through April 30, 2018, 183 tankers were loaded at CPC Marine Terminal, with 45 of them being loaded in April.

As a reminder, in March 2018, the CPC Marine Terminal hit the record of monthly loading. Crude oil shipment volumes amounted to 5,506,294 tons or 43,609,021 barrels, which is almost 6% higher than the previous record dated December 2017 when the monthly loading from CPC Marine Terminal achieved 5,196,229 tons

In total, from 2001 through April 30, 2018, 541,572,655 tons of crude oil were delivered to the world markets by Tengiz-Novorossiysk crude pipeline system. 470,713,317 tons of that amount of crude oil comes from Kazakhstani Shippers and 70,859,338 tons of “black gold” were produced in Russia.

About 75% of all crude oil resources exported from Kazakhstan is being transported via CPC crude pipeline.

For reference.

CPC pipeline system is one of the largest investment projects in the energy industry with participation of foreign capital on the CIS territory. The length of the pipeline connecting the oil fields in Western Kazakhstan with the Marine Terminal near Novorossiysk is 1,511 km. CPC Marine Terminal is equipped with single point moorings which allow for safe tanker lifting at a considerable distance from the shore, also when the weather conditions are unfavorable.

The Expansion Project includes rehabilitation of 5 existing and construction of 10 additional pump stations (2 in the Republic of Kazakhstan and 8 in the Russian Federation), six new storage tanks (100,000 cu.m each) in addition to the existing four near Novorossiysk and a third SPM at the CPC Marine Terminal, and also the replacement of an 88 km pipeline section in Kazakhstan with a larger diameter pipe. The total amount of the Project investments will be US$ 5.4 billion.
