Participation of CPC delegation in SPIEF-2018

A delegation of Caspian Pipeline Consortium headed by General Director Nikolay Gorban takes part in the Saint Petersburg Internation Economic Forum SPIEF-2018. The event is held in the Northern Capital on 24-26 May. The delegation comprises Engineering and Projects Consultant Christopher Scott Bowen, Deputy General Director for RF Government Relations Mikhail Grishankov, Deputy General Director for RK Government Relations Kailgeldy Kabyldin, Deputy General Director Legal Evgeny Popov, Finance Consultant Scott McDonald, Chief Accountant Alexey Khodakov and others.

For several years already CPC has been a partner of the forum business program. Plenary sessions will cover four areas – global economy, Russian potential therein, leadership technologies and human capital in digital economy. This year, guests of the forum will be able to take part in dozens of versatile events organized in different formats and covering a broad range of topics.

According to the organizers, the event will be the most large-scale of all Saint Petersburg Economic Forums, with the number of participants from 140 countries reaching 15 thousand.

By tradition, SPIEF is an important platform for CPC to carry out useful exchange of views with its partners, state authorities, representatives of regions, to establish and to develop mutually beneficial business relations.

CPC pipeline system is one of the largest investment projects in the energy industry with participation of foreign capital on the CIS territory. The length of the pipeline connecting the oil fields in Western Kazakhstan with the Marine Terminal near Novorossiysk is 1,511 km. CPC Marine Terminal is equipped with single point moorings which allow for safe tanker lifting at a considerable distance from the shore, also when the weather conditions are unfavorable.

The Expansion Project includes rehabilitation of 5 existing and construction of 10 additional pump stations (2 in the Republic of Kazakhstan and 8 in the Russian Federation), six new storage tanks (100,000 cu.m each) in addition to the existing four near Novorossiysk and a third SPM at the CPC Marine Terminal, and also the replacement of an 88 km pipeline section in Kazakhstan with a larger diameter pipe. The total amount of the Project investments will be US$ 5.4 billion.
