CPC emergency response forces extinguished a fire at the Marine Terminal offsite area

On June 13, 2018 the brigades providing for fire protection of the CPC Marine Terminal extinguished a fire in the area adjacent to the oil harbor outside CPC responsibility.
At 19:09 (Moscow time) the Marine Terminal duty officer in Yuzhnaya Ozereevka received a message about a fire near the forest area 500 m from the consortium’s Shore Facilities. The incident was reported to the rescue service (fire department number 01) and to the Marine Terminal management. Despite the fact the adjacent area extinguishing is outside of JSC CPC-R responsibility given the wind strength and direction and the distance to the nearest State Fire-fighting Service fire station the Marine Terminal Regional Manager Oleg Ivanischev decided to send the CPC facilities fire protection bregades to the fire point.
The Marine Terminal (MT) emergency response forces fire crew arrived to the scene at 19:13 (Moscow time).  The initial survey found that the fire was caused by an unidentified ignition source on the area of around 100m2. The forces were deployed and fire extinguishing was arranged.
Thanks to competent, efficient and coordinated actions of the MT emergency response forces and the arrived State Fire-fighting Service division being part of the Novorossiysk garrison, PCh-22 Glebovskoye village, the fire extinghishing was completed at 19:30.
As a reminder, due to the settled dry and hot weather the highest fire hazard level 5 is effective in Krasnodar Krai. Careless handling of fire is fraught with drastic consequences that can cause fatalities and serious material damage.
For CPC Marine Terminal operation the consortium adopts the Russian and international pipeline companies best practices. Not only advanced technologies are applied at CPC facilities but also systematic work is in process to strengthen human resources, regular trainings are conducted including for emergency preparedness, both on land and sea.
In 2016 CPC employees helped a sailing catamaran in distress with passengers onboard near the Marine Terminal  offshore area.
For reference:
The CPC pipeline system is one of the largest investment projects with foreign capital in the energy sector in the CIS. The length of Tengiz-Novorossiysk pipeline is 1,511 km; more than two thirds of all export crude oil from Kazakhstan and crude oil from the Russian fields, including those in the Caspian Region, are transported by this route. CPC Marine Terminal is equipped with three Single Point Moorings (SPM) that allow to load tankers safely at a significant distance offshore, also in poor weather conditions.
