CPC guarantees efficient and environmentally safe movement of crude oil

The Project is designed to increase the trunk pipeline capacity

Half a Billion Tones of Kazakhstan Oil Lifted From CPC Marine Terminal

The five hundred millionth ton delivered by Kazakhstani Shippers to the Tengiz-Novorossiysk crude pipeline since the commencement of operation of CPC pipeline system was lifted from the Marine Terminal of Caspian Pipeline Consortium on November 17, 2018. The “milestone” ton was loaded on the ALEKSEY KOSYGIN tanker.
As a reminder: the first tanker was loaded at CPC Marine Terminal near Novorossiysk (near Yuzhnaya Ozereevka. Settlement, Krasnodar Krai) on October 13, 2001. In February 2018, the 5000th tanker was demoored from the Single point mooring.
About 45 tankers are currently beeing loaded at CPC Marine Terminal monthly. After the completion of the Expansion Project, the Consorium’s pipeline system throughput capacity has increased to 67 M tons of oil per year. In the course of the large-scale work activities, the oil Terminal received a third Single point mooring (SPM) and the Marine Terminal Tank Farm capacity reached 1 M tons of crude oil, making it one of the largest and most technically advanced tank farms in the country.
Over the entire period since the construction completion and subsequent operation of the Marine Terminal, no violations of industrial and environmental safety standards have been committed, the oil has been lifted without any oil spill incidents and without exceeding maximum permissible emissions of karmful substances in the air.
In 2017, for the first time ever CPC was included in the Russian oil and gas companies environmental responsibility rating as one of the top three environmentally safe companies.
FYI:
CPC Pipeline System is one of the major investment projects in energy sector with participation of foreign capital in the CIS. The length of the Tengiz–Novorossiysk pipeline is 1,511 km; it transports over two thirds of all Kazakhstan export crude, as well as crude from Russian oil fields, including the Caspian Region. CPC Marine Terminal is equipped with three Single Point Moorings (SPM) that allow to load tankers safely at a significant distance offshore, also amid poor weather conditions.
