CPC Management Visit to Marine Terminal near Novorossiysk

On January 29, 2019, CPC General Director Nikolay Gorban, First Deputy General Director Kenneth Yoss and General Manager, Field Operations, Vladimir Shmakov visited the CPC Marine Terminal in Yuzhnaya Ozereevka near Novorossiysk. The CPC top managers inspected Shore Facilities and Tank Farm, met staff to discuss the team performance in 2018 and business plans for 2019.
The Marine Terminal near Novorossiysk is a CPC major facility. It utilizes the advanced technology for its operations, which is currently used by at most 40 oil terminals worldwide. Vessels approach not the oil port berths but three Single Point Mooring units (SPM) located more than 5 km away from the shore. Oil can be lifted from the SPM in a safe manner, also amid poor weather conditions. In February 2014, after the third SPM was commissioned, the MT Shore Facilities acquired the configuration capable of shipping more than 70 million tons of crude oil per year.
The CPC Tank Farm, which maximum capacity is 1M m3 of crude oil, is one of the largest tank farms in Russia.  Prior to 2011, the Tank Farm had four 100,000m3 tanks, additional six tanks were constructed over subsequent five years. All tanks are regularly subjected to non-destructive testing.
Marine Terminal facilities are equipped with an automatic fire suppression system. The fire suppression equipment at all Tank Farm facilities is tested on a monthly basis as per the schedule.
The Marine Terminal has high-tech treatment facilities receiving all equipment wastewater. Wastewater is treated up to the level of water used for fishery but it does not leave the Marine Terminal territory as it is used for fire suppression. For this purpose, the Tank Farm has an evaporation pond and two 35,000 m3 tanks.
We would like to remind you that in 2018 CPC shipped the record quantity of crude oil (more than 61M tons) via the CPC Marine Terminal.  Such quantity of CPC blend was lifted to 558 tankers.
FYI:
CPC Pipeline System is one of the major investment projects in energy sector with participation of foreign capital in the CIS. The length of the Tengiz–Novorossiysk Pipeline is 1,511 km; it transports over two thirds of all Kazakhstan export crude, as well as crude from Russian oil fields, including the Caspian Region. CPC Marine Terminal is equipped with three Single Point Moorings (SPM) that allow to load tankers safely at a significant distance offshore, also amid poor weather conditions.
