CPC guarantees efficient and environmentally safe movement of crude oil

The Project is designed to increase the trunk pipeline capacity

CPC Management Team visited CPC Central and Western Regions

On 10 July 2019, CPC General Director Nikolay Gorban, First Deputy General Director, Operations, Kenneth Yoss and General Manager, Field Operations, Vladimir Shmakov visited the facilities of CPC Central and Western Regions in Astrakhan Oblast, Republic of Kalmykia and Stavropol Krai.
In Central Region the CPC CEO visited APS-4A, Astrakhan PS, APS-5A and PS-3. In Western Region CPC top managers inspected PS-4. At some sites there were random checks of CPC/contractors readiness for emergency response.
Based on the findings of site inspections, drills and meetings with specialists, the CPC top managers noted the reliable operation of equipment and high proficiency of CPC personnel.
In 2018, Central Region transported 59 MTA of crude oil. Over this period Central Region had more than 3 M man-hours worked without incidents and injuries.
Please also note that in 2018 the Central Region team was recognized as the best in the CPC pipeline system in terms of its efficiency. The equipment reliability, OH and FS compliance, management system functioning and other factors were also taken into consideration.
Since the beginning of CPC operations, CPC WR team had 20,640,721 man-hours worked without incidents and injuries and 43,083,629 km driven without recordable MVAs. In 2018, these indicators amounted to 2,798,570 man-hours and 8,314,201 km, respectively.  Taking into account the crude oil injected at Kropotkin PS the region pumped over 61 MTA in 2018.
Last year 12 defects earlier found by the pipeline in-line inspection were repaired in Western Region, including a complicated repair in the Bakanka river bed using a 6-m long repair sleeve assembly installation method. After the pipeline defect repair, for the first time in CPC river bed stabilization works were performed in the river crossing area using flexible concrete mats.
As part of the Debottlenecking Program  it is planned to install a new pump unit with a gas turbine and upgrade the diesel fuel pump station in Central Region at the inspected sites, including APS-4A. At Astrakhan PS a new mainline pumps house is expected to be constructed, new ML pumps with variable frequency drives and mud strainers - to be installed and a 10kV switchgear - to be constructed. ML pump impellers are to be replaced at APS-4A and A-PS-5A.
Moreover, at the WR sites inspected by the CPC Management Team the surge relief system will be upgraded as part of the Debottlenecking Program  scope.
