First Stage of Competition “CPC to Talented Children” Ended in Kazakhstan

The first stage of competition “Jas-tolqyn” under the CPC international program “CPC to Talented Children” has ended in Kazakhstan. The competition is held for gifted children of the Atyrau, Aktyubinsk, Mangystau and West Kazakhstan Regions. The organizers and sponsors of this unique creativity contest highlighted its conditions and tasks at a press conference on 2 September 2019 in Atyrau.
The creativity competition is designed to facilitate preservation of authenticity of folk traditions and culture, to provide an opportunity for talented children to show themselves, to acquire new skills at master classes with famous teachers. “Jas-tolqyn» is funded by CPC-R and TOO TengizChevroil. This competition is held for the first time in Kazakhstan, while in Russia it has already a 20-year history.
“This year, the competition has expanded its territorial borders and the Kazakhstan children also has got an opportunity to take part in it and demonstrate their abilities. We are interested in supporting the youth, finding talented persons and helping them in their development and professional growth”, - noted CPC Deputy General Director Kairgeldy Kabyldin.
“TCO has been and remains a part of the local community and support of social tasks fulfillment in the Atyrau Region is one of our priorities. Since 1993, TCO has allocated more than USD 1.8 billion for implementation of social projects in the region”, - said at the press conference TCO General Manager for Government and Public Relations Rzabek Artygaliyev.
According to the competition conditions, 9 to 18-year-old children may participate. The junior group – children of 9 to 14 years old, the senior group – children of 15 to 18 years old. Participants compete in three nominations: “Choreography” (folk and show dancing), “Vocal” (band, solo, duet, quartet) and “Instrumental” (orchestra, ensemble, solo).
The competition program consists of three stages. At the first stage, which ended on 31 August, the competition judges received online resumes of participants and videos of their performance. The organizers received a total of 114 applications from individual performers and groups, comprising more than 500 children and teenagers, including those from remote rural districts.
Currently, the judges are selecting participants for the second in-person stage, which will be held on 1-5 October in Atyrau. Winners of the stage – Grand Prix holders will be entitled to take part in the unifying cultural forum on 26-30 October in Moscow.
It is symbolic that the creativity competition “Jas-tolqyn» is held on the eve of the 120th anniversary of the Kazakhstan oil industry and in the Year of Youth declared by a decree of the First President of Kazakhstan N.A. Nazarbaev. The competition organizers are confident that the project will become one more good annual tradition in Kazakhstan aimed at development of children’s creative interests.

CPC Pipeline System is one of the major investment projects in energy sector with participation of foreign capital in the CIS. The length of the Tengiz–Novorossiysk Pipeline is 1,511 km; it transports over two thirds of all Kazakhstan export crude, as well as crude from Russian oil fields, including the Caspian Region. CPC Marine Terminal is equipped with three Single Point Moorings (SPM) that allow to load tankers safely at a significant distance offshore, also amid poor weather conditions.
