CPC and Atyrau Region Akim’s office signed a new cooperation agreement

20210517-1-1.jpgOn 17 May 2021 Caspian Pipeline Consortium and the Atyrau Region akim’s office signed an agreement on cooperation in implementing social projects under the CPC charity program. The document was signed by Nikolay Gorban, CPC General Director and Makhambet Dosmukhambetov, the Atyrau Region akim.

The parties agreed to cooperate on a long-term and stable basis in order to further develop and increase the operational efficiency of fuel & energy industry facilities in the Atyrau Region, increase the throughput capacity of the Tengiz-Novorossiysk main oil pipeline, strengthen the financial and econ0mic situation, grow the production potential, and improve the investment climate in the Atyrau Region.

The Consortium will continue to actively participate in implementing large-scale social programs in host regions crossed by the oil pipeline system and to provide sponsorship and charity aid.

20210517-1-2.jpgThe signed document envisages continuing to implement projects in support of education, health care, fitness, sports, culture, and ecology, and also to provide special aid to the disadvantaged social groups. As a reminder, the previous five-year agreement was signed in December 2016. Under that agreement, three kindergartens for 290 children each - in the Samal Distict in the city of Atyrau, in the village of Akkol in the Kurmangazy District, and the village of Akkystau in the Isatay District - as well as a secondary school named after Valikhanov for 80 schoolchildren in the village of Zhastalap in the Kurmangazy District have been built. Under the new agreement, CPC commits to fund the construction of a secondary school for 900 children in the Taygaran residential area in Atyrau.

In total since starting operations, CPC has allocated over 11 billion tenges to construct and equip health care, education, culture, sport, and social infrastructure facilities, and to support the disadvantaged social groups in the Atyrau Region.

The CPC Pipeline System is one of CIS largest energy investment projects that involves foreign capital. The length of the Tengiz – Novorossiysk pipeline is 1,511 km. This route moves over two thirds of all Kazakhstan export oil along with crude from Russian fields including those in the Caspian region. CPC Marine Terminal is equipped with three Single Point Moorings (SPM), allowing tankers to be loaded safely at significant distance offshore, including in poor weather conditions
