20210813.jpgOn 12 August 2021, Krasnodar Krai Governor Veniamin Kondratyev jointly with Caspian Pipeline Consortium General Director Nikolay Gorban made a visual inspection of the Marine Terminal in Yuzhnaya Ozereyevka and the adjoining near-shore sea area.

Kuban’s governor and the CPC CEO made the visual inspection of the Marine Terminal sea area from a helicopter and then met with and talked to beach visitors in Abrau-Dyurso.

- The holiday season is continuing in the Krasnodar Krai. For several days now, contradictory information has been coming in about the situation around the oil spill and the scale of the incident. It was important for me to evaluate the situation myself. As a result of the fly-over we saw that at the moment the sea is clean . There is no cause for panic, no threat to the tourists and the Black Sea coast. “The most important thing for us today is that they cleared everything promptly”, said Veniamin Kondratyev.

For his part, Nikolay Gorban highlighted the prompt and well-coordinated work of all emergency services who contained and cleaned up the consequences of the oil spill in one day.

- In sea water samples, the oil product content does not exceed maximum allowable concentrations. We continue monitoring the sea area. We engage independent laboratories to monitor the condition of the water and air, said Nikolay Gorban.
