The 11th CPC Safety Day
is taking place in Astrakhan State Theater of Opera and Ballet on 13 September
2023. Representatives of Oblast Administration, Shareholders, Managers and
Specialists of the Company’s Moscow Office and its Regional Divisions in Russia
and Kazakhstan, Managers and Specialists of Contractors and entities-partners
of Caspian Pipeline Consortium participate in the function. In total, about 600
persons have arrived for the function.
This year, the Safety Day
has a thematic title of "Sarmatian Gold": the function aimed at
boosting motivation of personnel of CPC, Consortium’s partners and contractors
in health, safety and environmental protection (HSE), and it immerses all
guests and participants in the centuries-old history of Astrakhan Oblast.
The scientists from
Astrakhan reserve museum rendered their help to the organizers in preparation
of the function. They consulted in the development of the historical narrative,
the game route for participants and guests, and the design of the Safety Day,
including numerous photo areas.
- Astrakhan has always
been an iconic location of meeting between representatives of various
civilizations, traditions and cultures. We too have come here today on an
important mission, as bearers of our culture – Safe Work Culture, - noted CPC
General Director Nikolay Gorban at the opening.
The Consortium’s Head
emphasized that CPC was one of the first in Russia to join the international
initiative of Vision Zero. Based on practical experience of CPC, its
Shareholder Companies and the results of an independent expert review, an HSE
Strategic Plan for 2022 - 2024 has been developed and is being implemented
successfully.
Twenty-four teams representing
various subdivisions of the Consortium, its contractors and partner companies
from both countries crossed by Tengiz-Novorossiysk Crude Pipeline, take part in
the competition for knowledge and practical application of occupational safety
rules in various fields.
A strict jury assesses
the contestants' general theoretical knowledge of occupational safety, ability
to conduct an investigation of job-related incidents and identify root causes,
issue correct work permits, identify potential risks prior to work, develop
compensatory actions to exclude the identified risks. Transport safety and road
traffic rules, response to emergency, CPC Life Saving Rules, environmental
safety basics, etc., have become other topics of the competition program.
Thanks to close
interaction between the Management and staff, concurrently with checking the
knowledge of existing regulations and boosting personnel motivation, all
participants demonstrate by personal example their commitment to safe operation
at the Consortium’s facilities.
The Safety Day will
traditionally end with summarizing the results of the competition and awarding
prizes to the winners.
