On 3 July 2024, in Stavropol, April Agakishiev, First Deputy Chief of the Krai Main Directorate of the RF MChS, awarded CPC General Director Nikolay Gorban with the medal “For Cooperation for Salvation”.
The order signed by Lieutenant General Alexander Kurenkov, Minister of the Russian Federation for Civil Defense, Emergencies and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters, points out that the award is "for services in the implementation of a unified state policy in the field of civil defense, protection of the population and territories from natural and man-made emergencies, fire safety and safety of people on water bodies".
CPC attaches great importance to the preparedness of personnel and contractors’ representatives for non-emergency situations, and close cooperation with local administrations, MChS units and emergency services.
The Consortium conducts at least 10 large-scale, including comprehensive, jointly with the RF MChS units, oil spill and fire extinguishing drills annually. Large-scale exercises are conducted in CPC on a regular basis, allowing to assess the readiness of pipeline operation teams, Security and dispatchers of the Consortium to emergencies.

The CPC Pipeline System is one of CIS largest energy investment projects that involves foreign capital. The length of the Tengiz – Novorossiysk pipeline is 1,511 km. This route moves over two thirds of all Kazakhstan export oil along with crude from Russian fields including those in the Caspian region.
