On 10 September 2024, the 12th Safety Day of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium was held in Almaty. The event is conducted regularly and the representatives of the international Consortium’s Shareholders, Contractors and Partners, as well as of the regional authorities are invited. As part of the Strategical Plan for Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental Protection (HSE), the entire CPC Management Team participated in the Safety Day.
This year, the Medeu high-altitude sports complex (Republic of Kazakhstan) became the venue of the Safety Day held under the general motto “Ahead of Time”. About 600 guests from 24 companies participated in the event. Representatives of 28 teams competing under the flags of CPC subdivisions, contractors of the international project and partner companies from Russia and Kazakhstan came to the start in the competitive part of the Safety Day.
According to the results of the competition program, the jury announced the teams that had showed the best results in the theoretical knowledge of occupational health, the ability to investigate incidents at work and identify root causes, to correctly issue work permits, to identify potential risks before work, to develop corrective actions to eliminate the identified risks. Transport safety and road traffic rules, response to emergency, CPC Life Saving Rules, environmental safety basics, etc., also became important topics of the competition program.
The Marine Terminal combined team took the first place in the team competition among CPC subdivisions. The Eastern Region team came in the second place and the CPC Central Region team became the bronze medalist.
UTP team was announced the winner among contractors. Kaspiymunaigaz NIPI team was the second. The teams of ZamanQuantor, SK BIN and Prom Expert shared the third place.
CPC has been conducting the Safety Day since 2012 and it is one of the activities to develop the Safety Culture, increase the employees’ motivation in this area and demonstrate the commitment of the entire team to high occupational health standards. The event has been conducted for the second time in the Republic of Kazakhstan, in 2022, it was held in Atyrau - the Oil Capital.
