
On October 16, 2024 within the framework of implementation of Information Security Cooperation Agreement, a meeting of CPC specialists and the RK state authorities was held at CPC production facility - PS Atyrau.
The meeting was initiated having regard to mutual need in defining regulatory requirements in the field of automated process control systems (APCS) security. To consistently build strong relationships in various aspects of this issue, the Consortium has made its production base and competencies available.
Meeting at PS Atyrau was of an applied nature: guests of production facility were able to familiarize with technological processes which are provided by automated control systems as well as with the applied security measures. The Parties confirmed that within the framework of technologies considered it is required to develop and clarify the RK regulatory documents taking into account certain principles and approaches. For instance, physical security and process protection measures required by the process must be implemented first. Information security system shall not adversely affect the established or existing APCS and technological processes.
The Agreement parties confirmed their commitment to the goals of cooperation, including the goal of enhancing the effectiveness of the Republic of Kazakhstan regulatory documents in the field of APCS security.

The CPC pipeline system is one of the largest projects in the energy sector in the CIS. Length of the Tengiz–Novorossiysk Pipeline is 1,511 km. This route transports over two thirds of all Kazakhstan export crude, as well as crude from Russian oil fields, including those in the Caspian Region. CPC Marine Terminal is equipped with three Single Point Moorings (SPM) that allow to load tankers safely at a significant distance offshore.
