Caspian Pipeline Consortium divisions have completed winterization of the Tengiz-Novorossiysk crude oil pipeline industrial facilities for steady operation in fall-winter period. The activities were carried out from July through October in the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The complex of activities performed to inspect 1.5k kilometers of the trunk crude pipeline line pipe facilities and 15 pump stations.
Activities to enhance the reliability of the structural divisions’ heat supply systems completed. Both boiler houses and fire safety systems prepared for steady operation in the winter period. In particular, the operability of automatic systems and primary fire extinguishing equipment was checked at all company facilities and sites. Operability of all treatment facilities checked.
Maintenance of 230 block valves with diameter ranging from 300 to 1000mm carried out within the line pipe section of the pipeline. The specialists inspected the pipelines, telecom and power supply lines and the power supply units.
The required quantities of fuels and lubricants stocked, monitoring posts prepared at the underwater crossings and at all production sites of the company, where the emergency response equipment and the personnel of the specialized divisions for preventing and response to potential emergencies are located.

This route transports over two-thirds of all Kazakhstan export oil, and crude from Russian oil fields, including those in the Caspian Region.
